WHO WE ARE

Joy Bringers Kenya is a self help group for people living with HIV /AIDS in Rift valley of Kenya with an idea of engaging  people around the area in empowering themselve economically and at thesame time participating activily in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The group was started in 2005 by Joseph Obondi who is a young HIV positive individual from the rift valley of Kenya.

The group now has 35 members , all of whom are HIV positive. Approximately 25 of the members are women. It is their hope that many for their members can benefit from the project started three years ago by their leader.

WHAT WE DO

Basically as the name suggests Joy bringers is about positive living. As people living with HIV we understand that positive living is no life without economic empowerment. The group thus emphasizes the meaning of this word through self help projects that promote the members Physically, Psychologically and economically. 

The group runs a workshops that makes members in the group be able to provide for themselves through income generating activities that involves the production and marketing of Jewelery products, textiles, hand made paper productts, ceramics, art work paintings, maasai sandals, HIV ribbons, printing of T shirts, beads work that includes necklaces, bracelets, cloth  decorations, earrings , stone carvings, mats and many more....
